Dried fruit projects in Turkey
PROJECTS

Many of our dried fruits come from Turkey where the climate and soil conditions enable the cultivation of numerous fruits. There is also plenty of sun here, also in the autumn, so that the fruits can be gently dried.

Thirty five vine growers in Kamberler, at an elevation of 800m, in the hinterland of Izmir, cultivate the grapes for raisins and sultanas. The villagers here have always worked traditionally without pesticides or artificial fertilisers.

The NATURATA figs are also grown not far from this region. In Buharkent, in the fertile
Menderes valley, ten organic farmers have joined to sell their figs. Here the soil and the climate conditions are ideal for fig growing – conditions which are limited to a ca. 50 km wide belt in the valley in the hinterland of the tourism centre of Kuşadasi.

Our sweet and wild apricots as well as apricot seeds come from central Turkey.
